College Movers' COVID-19 Response
College Movers & Junk Hauling Operations (Effective 3/24/20)
- If customers have access to disinfectants we ask they clean all door knobs, surfaces, objects that will need to be moved, and any other commonly touched or used surfaces before their crew arrives.
- For safety reasons we do not require our crews to wear masks during appointments. Customers who do not feel comfortable must be prepared to leave their home for the duration of their move or removal appointment after the initial walk-through has been completed with the Crew Manager. Crews are prepared to communicate by text, phone call or FaceTime during the move or removal appointment with any questions they may have. If you would like the crew to wear masks during your move, please reach out to one of our moving coordinators.
- If the customer has access to a face mask or cover, we ask that they wear them during the walk-through. If masks are unavailable please maintain a distance of 6' or more from all members of our staff at all times
- Customers are asked to return at the completion of the move or removal to complete the Bill of Lading and any other documentation. Please wash your hands thoroughly for 20 seconds or more prior to handling any documents, folders, pens, or payment screens.
- We are able to process all cards at no additional cost to you. If possible, we ask that you pay via card in person or over the phone instead of cash at this time
College Movers continues to monitor this ever evolving and unprecedented epidemic every day. According to the Department of Homeland Security moving, transportation, logistics and waste removal companies are considered an essential service. We want to make sure we are available for all of our customers who need moving, storage and junk removal services and are unable to move or remove their own items. As of today, College Movers & Junk Hauling is fully operational to service all of our customers. We do want to ensure the health and safety of all of our staff and customers and have implemented the above steps to try and mediate risks of exposure and spread at this time. We are also equipping all of our trucks with disinfectant, movers with their own gloves which will be worn at all times and sanitized as many times throughout the day as possible, and with masks or face covers when available. We do, however, want to make sure we are not putting any further stress on the supply chain for the healthcare system and will only be purchasing and using supplies that would not be used by our State's healthcare workers. Supplies are also limited and we may not be able to keep stock of all the items we wish to at this time.
We understand that situations are rapidly changing and schedules may need to change as well. If you have any questions or concerns please reach out to our staff at any time.
UPDATE: At this time, we are not requiring our crews to wear masks during the day due to safety concerns when sweat and rain dampen the masks, severely reducing their breathability. However, masks will be worn during your job if requested. Please reach out to your job coordinator to make sure your team has masks if desired.
Thank you
